EMDR
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a structured, evidence-based therapy designed to help people heal from the emotional distress associated with traumatic or disturbing life experiences. During EMDR, a therapist guides the client through sets of bilateral stimulation (like eye movements, tapping, or sounds) while the client recalls a troubling memory. This process helps the brain reprocess the memory in a way that reduces its emotional charge and allows for more adaptive thinking.
