FAQs

  • I follow the Psychologists Association of Alberta fee guide recommended rate of $220 per 50 minute therapy session.

  • The short answer is probably. Most insurance plans cover costs associated with seeing a registered provisional psychologist, however not all do. You will need to check with your particular insurance provider to determine your coverage.

If your plan does have coverage, you will simply need to submit a receipt to them for reimbursement. Unfortunately direct billing is not available at this time.

  • I am a Registered Provisional Psychologist practicing in Alberta. That means that I have a masters degree in Counselling Psychology and participate in ongoing professional development, supervision, and professional consultation.

I hold a Masters of Counselling Psychology and a Bachelors of Education.

  • Sadly, at this time, I can only work with clients located within Alberta at the time or their session. This is due to insurance and registration regulations. If you require services outside of Alberta, please feel free to reach out and I would be happy to point you in the right direction!

  • If you’ve never been to therapy before, it can feel daunting and mysterious to begin! But really, therapy is all about finding a space to feel heard and understood while developing deeper insights and understandings of yourself and the systems that have affected you. Therapy can also involve education about mental health, brains, systems that impact our mental health, and relational work.
Usually we start out with a quick hello and check in, and then we move into what you want to talk about or continue with the topic from the previous session. I check in with you throughout the conversation about how you are feeling. To end I may check in with you about how our conversation went, and then we can determine together what the next step will be. And that’s it- that’s therapy!
