Hey! I’m Jo Hodgson

I am deeply passionate about helping young people feel seen, emotionally safe, and supported, while strengthening the relationships that shape their sense of security.

My training and clinical experience have shaped a developmentally attuned and attachment-informed lens. I view children’s behaviours as meaningful communication and prioritize understanding their emotional world.

In my various professional roles I have supported children navigating emotional dysregulation, relational stress, and systemic challenges. Much of my work involves co-regulation, strengthening emotional literacy, and helping children make sense of their experiences in ways that support self-understanding.

I collaborate with families to reinforce secure attachment patterns and increase connection at home. I integrate Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy skills, Narrative Therapy, somatic-based interventions, and Internal Family Systems, adapting each approach to the child’s developmental stage and emotional capacity. My work remains grounded in attachment theory, emotional regulation, and relational safety.

I am especially passionate about supporting children with anxiety, big emotions, identity development, and family transitions. I strive to ensure that each child I work with experiences therapy as a place where they are genuinely seen, valued, and capable.
